It's been a while...
since I posted. Given that this blog is, among other things, about frugality I made the mistake of not sharing my favorite site. Lund Fisker at http://earlyretirementextreme.com/ is really the only blogger I mentally connect with. What is interesting is that his background is in many ways similar to mine. He is an immigrant albeit from a western country, he is a former physicist, and of course he enjoys the essence of life contrasted by quantity/bling. Perhaps most importantly Lund is a very nice guy!

Retirement will be meaningless when the terminators initiate the war against mankind. What do you have in your portfolio to hedge against that risk?
ReplyDeleteOk, maybe an investment in a well-stocked underground bunker. You need to survive the inital phase (nuclear destruction).
ReplyDeleteMy hedge against the terminators are crude survival skills. A couple of weeks ago I discovered wild garlic plants growing in a local forest. Perhaps the little bulbs can stave off starvation for a little while at least.
ReplyDeleteWhat weaponry do you have stashed (preferably in a desert) and do you feel it will be effective against titatanium skeleton armor? While fleeing and hiding will be the most effective strategy, at times close-encounter combat situations may require that you fight.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your thoughts on those who forward internet hoaxes without fact-checking? Recently a work colleague forwarded an email about phone companies releasing cell phone numbers. Should people who blindly forward email suffer some form of punishment, besides the obvious embarrassment of discovering themselves to be mindless bots? Please advise..
